2017 Fall Brush Pick Up Scheduled

There is a change to this year’s Oelwein City Wide Brush Pickup.

For better efficiency the City will not be driving throughout town by quadrants this year.brush pile
Instead the City will be picking up locations that request the service.

Date: Monday, September 25 through Thursday the 29th.
Time: Between 7 am to 3:30 pm

If you wish to participate in the pickup service you will need to comply with the following items:
1) Residents will need to call and arrange for pickup.
    a. Contact the Oelwein Street/Utility Department at 283-5284.
    b. The City will make the pick up based on efficiency and work scheduling.
    c. Please state address, load size: small/light (pickup or less) or large/heavy (requiring a
        loader and dump truck)
2) Brush must be moved to the curb.
    a. Place brush in clear area that will allow easy access for City equipment. “Staff will not enter or pickup upon private property.”
3) Brush Only. No Large trees or stumps will be picked up.
    a. Brush consist of shrubs or small tree or limbs.
    b. Large trees etc. will not be picked up.  Please arrange to have hauled to the Yard Waste site.  See notice below.
4) Only one dump load per resident.  For brush piles requiring multiple trucks please arrange to have hauled to the Yard Waste Site.  See notice below.
5) No landfill materials - Brush only.

For those who do not meet the above criteria and for all Oelwein resident’s convenience, throughout the year, there is a City Yard Waste site located in the 500 block of 7th Avenue SW. It is available daily, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. There are no fees collected at the site. Please no landfill materials - Yard waste only at this site.
