Tree Trimming Scheduled to Begin

tree trimming          The City of Oelwein Street Department has contracted with Maurer Tree Service to trim trees in the boulevard to minimum code mandated heights. This work will not include the removal of dead branches or whole trees at this time. Work is scheduled to begin October 23rd in the Southeast quadrant of town, followed by the Northeast, Northwest and Southwest. Workers will be moving quickly through an area and should be completed within four weeks.

The contractor and city equipment will need a large, clear work area. To help expedite the project we ask that residents please park away from any boulevard trees when the crew is in their area.

Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Residents with questions are asked to contact Utility Superintendent Vic Kane at 283 1197.
