burning leavesFire Chief Mike Hillman has announced the open burning dates for the City of Oelwein have been scheduled to begin Friday, October 22, 2021, and continue through November 27, 2021. This time period is set aside for the open burning of natural yard waste, limbs, leaves, etc., on the property in which it grew. Care should always be taken that you have a hose set up by the fire. Windy days must be avoided. Also, remember it is never legal to burn furniture, garbage, building material or plastic.
