2019 Seal Coat Improvements

The City of Oelwein will be accepting proposals for seal coat improvements.  The full Notice of Hearing and Inviation to Bid can be found here.

South Frederick Closed

The Iowa Northern Railway will be working on both of the railroad crossings on South Frederick.  South Frederick from 3rd street to 5th Street will be closed to through traffic starting Thursday, June 27th through Wednesday July 3rd.

Downtown Development Assistance Available

The City of Oelwein is providing forgivable loans for improving the downtown properties.  These loans are five years in term and will be forgiven each year.  Funding can range from $5,000 to$50,000.  Any loan over $25,000 must include improvements for upper story housing.  The city will have $75,000 to allocate annually.  All downtown property owners are encouraged to apply.  The full presentation can be viewed here.
