The Oelwein City Council formally adopted the Rental Inspection and Vacant Building programs October 22, 2018. Landlords and vacant building owners are encouraged to review the Rental Inspection Policy, Rental Inspection Checklist Guide, Rental Fee Schedule and Rental Inspection Checklist. All rental properties must be registered by March 1, 2019.
A reminder to all residential properties in Oelwein. Black Hawk Waste garbage and recycling totes are address specific and stay with the property. Totes are not to be moved to a new residence.
Black Hawk Waste has released their 2020 schedule for garbage and recycling collection. Check here for your scheduled collection dates.
Due to automation of pickup, containers must be placed curbside with a 4' clearance on each side with the lid closed.
A Reaffirmation of the Categorical Exclusion has been issued for the City of Oelwein drinking water supply and treatment upgrades project. Attached is more information.
