New Single Hauler

As of April 1, 2023, the City of Oelwein will be partnering with Kluesner Sanitation for residential garbage and recycling services. Residents will have the option between a 96-gallon or 45-gallon tote, these totes will initially match those that the resident currently owns. New totes will be delivered the week of March 27-31. Blackhawk Waste will be collecting their containers at the end of March. If you have concerns regarding the collection of your current totes, you may call Blackhawk Waste at 319-232-4150. Garbage and recycling pickup will be on Thursdays for the entire city.  Trash collection will be weekly, and recycling will continue to be biweekly. Holidays that will be observed are New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. If a holiday lands on a regularly scheduled pick up day, then collection will be the following day.
