Leaf Removal

Annually in the fall the City of Oelwein Street Department removes leaves from the streets. Dates are published in The Register, normally after most of the leaves have fallen from the trees. Off-street parking is encouraged during this time.

Residents are discouraged from raking their leaves into the street as this plugs storm sewers and can cause localized flooding in the streets.

Citizens may also take their leaves to the Yard Waste Disposal site which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
