Regular Meeting
July 9, 2018

The Oelwein City Council met in regular session Monday, July 9, 2018. Mayor Sherrets called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M.

Roll Call PRESENT: Cantrell, Derifield, Fisk, Christensen, Milks, Weber
ABSENT: None
ALSO PRESENT: Rigdon, Dillon, Wedemeier

Adopt Agenda A motion was made by Milks, seconded by Weber to adopt the agenda as amended. All voted aye.
Motion Carried

Consent Agenda A motion was made by Milks, seconded by Cantrell to adopt the Consent Agenda as follows:
A. Motion approving June 25, 2018 regular council minutes.
B. Motion to set Public Hearing on proposed disposal by sale of city property located at 613 South Frederick, Oelwein, IA for July 23, 2018 at 6:00 P.M.
C. Motion authorizing “Sidewalk Sales” July 19 thru July 21, 2018 from 11:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M.
All voted aye.

Public Hearing disposal A motion was made by Weber, seconded by Derifield to open the Public Hearing
of 109 20th Street SE on the disposal by sale of city property commonly know as 109 20th St SE.
Ayes: Cantrell, Derifield, Fisk, Christensen, Milks, Weber
Nayes: None
Motion Carried

A motion was made by Weber, seconded by Christensen to close the Public Hearing.
Ayes: Cantrell, Derifield, Fisk, Christensen, Milks, Weber
Nayes: None

Motion Carried

Ordinance #1163 A motion was made by Christensen, seconded by Cantrell to adopt an Ordinance
Chapter 19 Animal Amending Code of Ordinances Chapter 19 Animal and Fowl on the third and
& Fowl final reading.
Ayes: Cantrell, Derifield, Fisk, Christensen, Milks, Weber
Nayes: None

Motion Carried

Geotechnical A motion was made by Weber, seconded by Milks authorizing signatures on
Engineering Services Geotechnical Engineering Services Agreement with Terracon for Wings Gate
Wings Gate Pavement East Pavement Reconstruction in the amount of $4,750.00
All voted aye.

Motion Carried

City Attorney report City attorney Dillon reported five new nuisances have been filed. Dillon coordinating conversations with County Engineer regarding speed limit issues.

Adjourn A motion was made by Milks, seconded by Fisk to adjourn at 6:05 P.M. All voted aye.
